Here at Wharfedale Montessori School, our aim is to provide an educational setting for all children, where they can progress together in harmony. Deciding on the right school for your child is an extremely important decision to make. For that reason, we welcome visits from interested families before you apply. Appointments can be made to visit school at any point during the term time.

Our Children’s House (preschool) takes children aged 3-6 years. before they then transfer to our Primary setting when ready, with this usually occurring around the time of a child’s sixth birthday. Children remain with us until the end of the year in which they turn 11 years old. You are welcome to apply for a place for your child up to the age of 10, and we will consider applications for children aged 11 (or in Year 6) depending on the circumstances.

See below for more information on how to apply, and we look forward to seeing you soon!

We welcome visitors at all times of the year. Please complete the visit request form, and we will be more than happy to arrange your visit. Admissions can take place at any time throughout the academic year.

We are holding an Online Open Evening on Thursday 8th May at 7pm. Join us to discover what Montessori can do for your child, experience a virtual tour of our school, and join a live Q&A with the Principal, Jeremy Clarke

We would warmly invite you to visit the school in the first instance. A follow-up visit that you can attend with with your child or children would then be made.

If following the visits, a family would like to request a place in setting, a registration form is provided. Following the return of the form to the school office, the registration is considered and an offer of a place hopefully made. Should circumstances require, school places are offered to children in order of priority, considering siblings of current pupils and the date of receipt of registration form.

We welcome visits at any time of year. Spending time in our school will certainly give you a feel for it, and help you see if this is the right setting for your child. The visits usually take place in the morning, and last up to an hour. During the visit you will see the Children’s House, the Cabin (our primary classroom space) and our woodland. During the visit we will ask you about your child, talk to you about our approach, and take any questions you may have.

Prior to a child starting, we will invite them to join us for two transition visits. This helps support the change from either home or another school. It is an invaluable time for a child to meet their new friends and to get used to the rhythms and routines of the school.

Our Children’s House (preschool) takes children age 3-6 years. However, we can take a child before their third birthday depending on the child’s development. Typically the child will be potty trained, and can both feed and toilet themselves independently. If needed, please do contact us so we can discuss your child’s requirements.
