Last week, Wharfedale Montessori primary school pupils had a fantastic trip to Manjushri Kadampa Temple of World Peace and International Centre for Modern Buddhism. The children found their trip inspiring and truly enjoyed the calm at the Centre which is located in Ulverston in the Lake District. When asked about their trip, Max (aged 9) said he though the guide Paul Boseley was “so friendly and so calm”, and Persie (aged 11) said her favourite thing about the day was “doing the play” while Rowan (aged 8) liked the meditation best.
The trip aligns with our school’s cultural curriculum as well as the national curriculum, both of which emphasise the importance of gaining a better understanding about – and an appreciation for – the world and its people.
At the end of the visit, the children enjoyed lunch outside on the lovely grounds of Manjushri Kadampa Temple overlooking the coast.

A big thank you again to Paul Boseley, our guide from Manjushri Kadampa Temple of World Peace and International Centre for Modern Buddhism. Paul answered all our pupils’ questions and was a truly inspirational figure.
