Pupils in Children’s House have enjoyed visits from Prickly Pigs Hedgehog Rescue and The Guide Dog Association. The children were thrilled to meet two real guide dogs and learn about the important role guide dogs play in the lives of those with sight loss. They also worked with wiki sticks and experienced a range of sensory environments which introduced some of the challenges associated with sight impairment. A big thank you to both organisations for visiting us.
The Cabin visited the Shree Lakshmi Narayan Hindu Temple which brought into relief some of key concepts and differences of the world religions that the pupils had been working on in class. Stump Cross Caverns also visited Cabin for an in-class-room workshop on fossils and stone formations during which pupils handled real fossils and different rock formations. Pupils also learned about the local geology of our area and enjoyed making clay imprints of fossils which they took home.
Wharfedale Montessori School is very proud of all our pupils who hosted a Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Research and who also did a grand job raising money for BBC Children in Need.
