The primary children helped raise funds for the charity, Hearing Dogs for the Deaf, by preparing lunch for invited parents, relatives and guests in the Cabin.
The pre-school children learnt all about the work of a dental hygienist as part of their term’s project, “All about me”.
The school organised a talk by celebrated American Montessorian, Paul Epstein, given to parents, local practitioners and invited guests.
The last day of the school term is Friday 27 March, when the school breaks up for 3 weeks, returning for the summer term on Tuesday 21 April. Wharfedale Babies is closed for the Easter break for one week from 6pm on Thursday 2 April, re-opening on Monday 13 April.
At the beginning of March, a team of firefighters came to visit the pre-school children to help them learn about keeping safe. The school, of course, has fire alarms, but did you know that, if you don’t, the fire service will come out and fit one free of charge!

The Cabin children were presented with a trophy by the Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association, having won a new award for the school having the highest proportion of children to complete the family walk in the Three Peaks Challenge 2014. Well done to the walkers, and thanks to the Frineds of Wharfedale Montessori for organising the school’s involvement....
As part of their project this term on understanding the sources of our food, the pre-school children visited Pizza Express and made their own pizzas, exploring a variety of ingredients to choose their toppings.

Our Woodland Explorers sessions run every Thursday afternoon in term-time from 12.45pm. Messy Play sessions at the baby nursery take place every Friday morning from 9.30am. Come and join us!
The children had great fun on our two special outdoor activity stay and play Art Explorer sessions held on 8 July. The activities included “scooter painting” and making a bottle-top snail.

All the children from both school and nursery enjoyed a trip to the Grassington Festival on 27 June. The younger children visited The Tig, a dance and movement luminarium, and the older ones went to the Wordlab at the Town Hall.
The pre-school children took part in a “Space”-themed Big Toddle to raise funds for Barnardo’s charity on 27 June.
Enjoying the May sunshine, the Cabin children visited Spout Yat woods, where they explored woodland activities with the help of a trained parks officer.
