The children had great fun on our two special outdoor activity stay and play Art Explorer sessions held on 8 July. The activities included “scooter painting” and making a bottle-top snail.

All the children from both school and nursery enjoyed a trip to the Grassington Festival on 27 June. The younger children visited The Tig, a dance and movement luminarium, and the older ones went to the Wordlab at the Town Hall.
The pre-school children took part in a “Space”-themed Big Toddle to raise funds for Barnardo’s charity on 27 June.
Woodland Warriors, the Holiday Club at Niffany Farm, Skipton, takes place this year during each week in August from Monday to Thursday, 9.30am-3.30pm. Each week features different outdoor activities, including den building, nature trails, wild art and wood craft. Enjoying the May sunshine, the Cabin children visited Spout Yat woods, where they explored woodland activities with the help of a trained parks officer.
The pre-school children enjoyed a nature walk in the Spring sunshine this week, returning to school to experiment with painting the flowers they’d found through glass.
We are delighted that the local press have been running an article on the Montessorians of the Year Award, presented to Mr and Mrs Jane Lord, proprietors of the School.
The pre-school is finding out about keeping safe at school, at home and on the roads, and the children have had visits this week from our local community police and fire support officers.
On 12 March, the primary children visited Bradford Industrial Museum and made a special study of Victorian and early 20th century toys and models.
The pre-school children enjoyed a special themed day of activities exploring African culture and food, as part of their term’s topic on Africa.

Our Woodland Explorer outdoor activity sessions continue to run during the summer term every Thursday from 12.45 – 2.45pm. These stay ‘n’ play sessions are open to all children aged 2 and above – you don’t have to attend either the school or baby nursery first! Come along and join us!

Undeterred by the late October rains, the pre-school children had a great time finding out about travelling by canal, as part of their project on transport.
Wharfedale Babies raised a total of £27 at the recent Read for RNIB event. Parents and their children enjoyed story-time, followed by afternoon tea.
Wharfedale Babies are beginning to prepare for Hallowe’en.
The children from Wharfedale Babies took a bus ride to Burnsall on 8 October. They enjoyed a picnic by the river, and collected stones for a stone painting activity. Returning to the nursery at Barden, they then tucked into a homemade meal of sausage and mash.
